Synthesis' Suqian Master Plan Receives Award

Synthesis has received another Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects New York Upstate Chapter (ASLA – NYU). This second Merit Award from the Chapter is for the Planning and Analysis of the “Ancient Yellow River” Master Plan in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, China.

Synthesis’ holistic approach to the “Ancient Yellow River” Master Plan explores the relationships between landscapes, environmental features, land-use functions and urban environments along eleven miles (15 km) of the Ancient Yellow River in Suqian, China. The Master Plan design was also an award recipient in an international design competition.

The Awards Jury stated that the Suqian Master Plan is a “…very complex project; waterway and open space system well developed as organizing element and economic development tool."

The ASLA – New York Upstate Chapter Merit Award of Achievement recognizes professional work of significant quality, innovation or professional impact. The Planning and Analysis category includes transportation, urban, regional and community planning, government policies, programs or regulations.
