Synthesis Selected as One of Five Firms for China’s Suqian Ancient Yellow River Design Plan

Schenectady, NY – In a qualifications based selection, Synthesis LLP, based in Schenectady, New York, with offices in Shanghai, China, was one of the five firms selected out of 250 firms worldwide to complete in a conceptual waterfront design competition for 15 km along the Ancient Yellow River in the City of Suqian, China. Suqian is located at the north end of Jiangsu Province and is considered one of the important cities in Asia. Suqian is rich in natural resources and seeks to become a destination area for tourists. The goal of the plan will be to create a “sightseeing belt” for tourists that will link various areas of the city with the Ancient Yellow River.

Synthesis LLP will lead the team that includes:

  • Synthesis Asia Inc., Shanghai, a subsidiary of Synthesis LLP
  • Philip Johnson/Alan Ritchie Architects, New York and Shanghai
  • The Waterfront Center with Ann Breen (founder and co-director), Washington, DC
  • CABR, Shanghai
