Synthesis, working with project leader River Street Planning & Development, and Transportation Concepts, worked with the City of Rome, New York to develop a master plan that creates a vision for future development and revitalization in several key areas of the City.

The Synthesis team conducted an extensive analysis of the targeted areas and developed a conceptual plan for a riverfront park along the Mohawk River and Erie Canal. The centerpiece of the park is a community center/hockey facility surrounded by soccer fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, a multi-use path, open space with picnic areas, an amphitheater, restaurants, a health club and a boardwalk.

Redevelopment proposals for other areas of the City include realigning a multi-level intersection and redesigning streetscapes to make the streets more pedestrian friendly and visually attractive.
