Synthesis performed a feasibility study and designed and documented the renovation and expansion of the Hospital’s Dietary Services department, part of a 6,000-square-foot multi-story addition. The design includes a new serving area, food court, and modernized kitchen and patient tray assembly area. Additionally, loading and recycling areas were relocated and reconfigured.
Synthesis worked with consulting engineers and the construction manager to develop implementation plans for the addition, located on a narrow, sloping site between the existing cafeteria and an adjacent building containing sensitive MRI equipment. The upper floor of the addition was designed to house the future consolidation of the hospital’s medical imaging suite.
Construction was performed in multiple phases to accommodate full operation of the kitchen, tray assembly, and dining areas.
