Synthesis rehabilitated this two-and-a half story, wood frame Federal Style home built in 1850 into professional office space. Most of the historic details and layout of the interior had been removed or altered.

Renovations included repair of historic trims and damaged details, removal of obtrusive additions, and providing paint and finish specifications. The interior reconfiguration and interior design was performed to meet New York State Historic Preservation Office Guidelines.

740 Union Street won the Preservation Award from the Schenectady Historic Foundation.
