Synthesis is currently the district architect for the $30.5 million rehabilitation of 17 Schenectady City Schools. This followed the Capital Project Facilities Planning Feasibility Study and recommended capital project scope and budget completed by Synthesis in 2003.
Among the improvements are brick and masonry repair and repointing, building stabilization, and comprehensive repair and replacement of windows, roofs and doors for the 17 city schools. Some of the roofing conditions, as shown below, required total replacement due to severely deteriorated conditions.
Synthesis assisted the district facilities department in identifying long-term solutions for recurring maintenance items such as door and hardware failure and roof leaks. The project budget has been closely managed while making the buildings watertight, safe, operational, and energy efficient. Synthesis is proud to announce that we are on budget and on time in this massive undertaking.
