Suqian "Ancient Yellow River" Master Plan, night rendering
162 Jay Street, Schenectady, NY 12305, 518 370-1576, Copyright 2009 Synthesis LLP, All Rights Reserved.

Synthesis was contracted by the Schenectady City School District to convert this previously vacated city school building into the Fulton Pre-School. Our office worked closely with the School District to program existing spaces and plan renovations which were to take place within a very limited construction schedule. A detailed analysis of the existing building and the proposed program resulted in efficient renovation plans that enabled the School District to undertake this project on a very tight budget.

Interior modifications included program required reconfigurations, life safety upgrades, toilet room modifications, asbestos abatement, lighting upgrades and heating system replacement. Finishes were updated to provide an inviting environment for pre-schoolers.

Site upgrades included parking lot reconfiguration to improve traffic and pedestrian safety, a new playground and reconfigured bus drop-off. Additional landscape improvements resulted in the previously vacant building becoming a contributing factor in this urban neighborhood.
