162 Jay Street, Schenectady, NY 12305, 518 370-1576, Copyright 2009 Synthesis LLP, All Rights Reserved.

Synthesis was the lead design consultant for the construction of the new $20 million Regional Headquarters for the New York State Department of Transportation in downtown Schenectady. Synthesis worked with the NYS Office of General Servies (OGS) team leaders and Turner Construction Company to develop a state-of-the-art design solution that is also an important part of the city fabric. The 125,000-square-feet, four-story office building is a U.S. Green Building Council L.E.E.D. Certified Silver level “Green Building.” The design cuts utility and water usage, improves indoor air quality, and uses locally produced construction materials.

The Department of Transportation building won the 2003 Award for Outstanding Appearance from The Chamber of Schenectady County. It is certified as a 2003 USGBC L.E.E.D. Silver level “Green Building.”
